(CRISFIELD, MD – March 16, 2017) The Crisfield Heritage Foundation seeks an Executive Director to provide leadership in advancing the Foundation’s mission to preserve and celebrate the Tangier Sound region’s people, history, and culture.
The Foundation’s Executive Director provides fiscal management, education program coordination, and fundraising development for the non profit organization, working closely with the Board of Trustees and its collections, exhibit, marketing, and maintenance committees.
CHF’s Executive Director is responsible for managing all Foundation operations, including supervision of volunteers and museum store activities, event coordination, promotion, and community outreach.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent organizational and communications skills, as well as computer knowledge. A working knowledge of local and regional history, and experience with grant writing and administration are desirable. An academic degree is experience.
This is a part-time, salaried position, with a flexible work schedule. Salary range is $25k to $35k annually, commensurate with experience. The Crisfield Heritage Foundation’s mission is to preserve the heritage of Crisfield and its environs; to educate the public concerning this heritage; and to serve as the central hub around which tourism in the Crisfield area revolves. CHF’s entities include the J. Millard Tawes Historical Museum & Gift Shop, Ward Brothers Workshop, J. Millard Tawes Library, Cedar Island Marsh Sanctuary, and the Crisfield Customs House.
