MEET THE CRISFIELD HERITAGE FOUNDATION EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:

Jay Tawes : 2018 Chairman. Philanthropist, successful businessman in the areas of investment, real estate, and insurance brokerage. Current Treasurer for the Greater Crisfield Action Coalition & Friends Board, Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. Past-President of the Crisfield Chamber of Commerce. Recipient of the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore’s 2008 Frank H. Morris Humanitarian Award. Also the 2016 WBOC Jefferson Award Winner, for his service to the community.

Pat Carson:  2018 CHF Secretary. Retired school teacher, active in environmental and Native American affairs. Lifelong resident of Crisfield, Md.

Doug Crockett: 2018 CHF Treasurer. Retired school teacher,  Chairman of Trustees of Immanuel Church, Board of Directors for McCready Health, Member of Crisfield Elks since 1987, member of Worcester County Teachers Association for 31 years.

Marty Schlegel: 2018, Vice Chair.  Martin Schlegel grew up outside of Reading, Pa. before moving to Salisbury, Md. 28 years ago. Schlegel often stays in Crisfield aboard his boat The Lucky Dog at Somers Cove Marina, and hopes to help CHF create an environment and atmosphere that builds awareness of Crisfield’s rich heritage and history. Schlegel is the owner of Strategic Commerce Solutions, a merchant service company for Ignite Payments, having served on Easterseals’ corporate board for one term, and on its advisory board for more than 12 years. His volunteer work includes serving the United Way, Oak Ridge Baptist Church, and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training.
